Northwestern College integrates the educational philosophy of “faith, learning and living” through two focuses: higher education and media. Northwestern College offers 45 bachelor degrees ranging from elementary education and pastoral studies to broadcasting/electronic media and psychology.

Northwestern College’s Alternative education programs, serving over 1,300 students, include FOCUS degree completion, Center for Distance Education, Urban Bible Institute (Minneapolis) and the Christian Center for Communications in Quito, Ecuador.

Northwestern College exists to provide Christ-centered higher education equipping believers to grow intellectually and spiritually, to serve effectively in their professions, and to give God-honoring leadership in the home, church, community, and world.

What makes Northwestern College unique is the added responsibility of a radio ministry. Not only does Northwestern College provide a biblical foundation for the student, but institutes a network for evangelism and spiritual growth to serve those outside the institution via radio.

Northwestern College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, which is located at 30 North LaSalle Street, Suite 2400, Chicago, IL 60602-2504. Thus, credits earned at Northwestern are recognized by other colleges and universities. Northwestern College is incorporated under the laws of the state of Minnesota as a College of the Bible, Arts and Sciences, and Professional Education, and is registered with the Minnesota Higher Education Services Office (MHESO).

The Northwestern College Financial Aid Office is dedicated to helping students work out a financial aid package that will make Northwestern College affordable. Scholarships, discounts, grants, employment, loans, or payment plans are available to finance your education. At Northwestern, their financial aid goal is to do everything they can to help make college affordable. Currently, 86% of students attending Northwestern College receive need-based aid from the college and/or government. Ninety-seven percent of all students receive assistance through grants, scholarships, loans or employment opportunities.
